Cher Thomas, RDH is a Registered Dental Hygienist and a renal transplant recipient. Cher is a published author, international public speaker, and renal and cancer advocate. She graduated from Richland College in 1991 with an AAS in liberal arts and dental hygiene school at Tarrant County College in 1993. She has performed as both a dental hygienist and dental assistant in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontal practices, and public health dentistry. She was in the degree completion program at Texas Women’s University when her kidneys failed.

In 2005, she received the Sunstar Butler Award of Distinction in Dental Hygiene and is currently a practicing dental hygienist in a private practice in Galveston, Texas.
